We are now closed for the 2023 Season. We would like to thank all of our Moose Apple Family and friends for another great year. We would like to extend special thanks to the Clarke County Athletic Association for the great food, snacks, and drinks. We would also like to thank the Wegmeyers for bringing their donut truck and making fresh donuts on the busiest weekends. The Wegmeyers also displayed their 1934 Ford truck in the front yard for the cutting season. Many family photos were taken in front of the truck, often with Santa Claus.

We hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and comes back to visit in 2024.

The Moose Apple Family would like to thank everyone for a great season so far. The Pre-Tag Only system has been a great success and we have avoided the chaos of the previous system.

Thursday through Sunday will be our final days for the 2023 season. For those of you that pre-tagged, come on out and get your trees. Hours are 9AM-4PM.

For anyone that did not pre-tag we still have an excellent section of pre-cut Frasers from Table Tops to 9', with a couple over 9'. Plenty of 6-7' and 7-8'. At least 30 8-9' to start on Thursday. No appointment necessary for pre-cuts.

Of course the Christmas Shop will also be open also.

If your friends are still looking for a real tree, send them out to Moose Apple.

1. The weather forecast for Sunday is for a lot of rain. We are recommending you try to come on Saturday or another day we are open to avoid getting drenched. You do not need to submit a date change to come another day.

2. Only 8 more days to get your tree at Moose Apple. December 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, and 17. Open each day from 9AM-4PM. The Christmas Shop will be open the same hours.

3. The fields are closed for cutting. We do have a good selection of pre-cut Frasers in the following sizes: Table Top, 6-7', 7-8', and 8-9'. There are still a few 9-10' and 10-11'. No appoimtment is necessary for the pre-cuts.

4. The Clarke County Athletic Association will be serving food, snacks, and drinks on Saturday December 9. That will be their last day for 2023.

5. Wegmeyer Farms will also be making their delicious fresh donuts on Saturday December 9.

Reminder: We have a No Pet Policy.

Last weekends addition of Wegmeyer Farms Donut Truck was very popular. Wegmeyer Farms has graciously agreed to return this Saturday and Sunday to create more of the excellent donuts.

There are only 4 more pre-tagging days this year: Nov 10, 11, 12, and 19. No appointment is necessary for tagging. Hours are 10AM - 4PM. Hope to see everyone on the farm.

We have dded a special treat for everyone with a sweet tooth this weekend. Our friends at Wegmeyer Farms will have their Donut truck here on Saturday and Sunday making their irresistible fresh donuts. They will be making our favorite, Apple Cider Donuts. Be sure and stop by their Donut Truck when you Visit Moose Apple this weekend, November 4 & 5. See what other donuts they might be making.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING!!! Santa sent us an email and told us he could be at Moose Apple on November 25, 26, December 2, and 3 from 10 AM until 2 PM each day. Mark your calendars for Saint Nick.

There are still thousands of gorgeous trees waiting for you to select. The Norway Spruce lots have many beautiful trees. There are also large selections of Douglas Firs, Canaan Firs, and Concolor Firs. There are still many Colorado Blue Spruce and White Pines. Several of you have been asking questions about the upcoming season. Hopefully, this note will answer most of the questions.

We will be operating as we have for the past 2 seasons. In order to cut a tree on the farm you have to pre-tag between Sept 30 and Nov 12.

Pre-tagging Dates (no appointment necessary):

10AM - 4PM

September: 30

October: 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and 29

November: 4, 5, 11, and 12

ADDITIONAL DATES ADDED: November 10th and November 19th

Don't forget to pre-order your custom wreaths & bows, to be picked up when you cut your tree!

Dates Available to Cut (must schedule):

November: 24, 25, 26, and 30

December: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, and 17

There will be plenty of pre-cut Fraser Firs from Southern Virginia for you to choose from and no appointment will be necessary to pick one up! For the larger pre-cut Frasers 9-10', 10-11', and 11-12' , we recommend pre-ordering. To pre-order send an email with your name, phone number, and size of tree. We will call in the evenings for credit card information.

The NO PET POLICY will continue.

Updates from Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm:

1. Moose Apple opens on October 1 for pretagging. We will be open from 10am to 4pm each weekend through November 13 for pretagging. NO APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY FOR PRETAGGING.

2. October and early November are excellent times to visit the Valley and check out the Fall colors. Pack a picnic lunch, we have plenty of tables for your use.

3. We will also be taking orders for custom wreaths. You can pick out the bows or pick out the ribbons and we will have your custom bow and wreath ready when you pick up your tree.

4. Friendly reminder, no pets allowed.

5. For the past two years our supplier of Blue Ice failed us. We have located a new source and will be receiving several hundred in May. They will be approximately 36” tall. If you want to plant some in May 2023, there will be signup sheets available throughout the season.

6. Starting October 1 you will also be able to pre order pre cut Fraser Firs we will receive from Southern Virginia. If you want a larger one, it is recommended.Prices were in previous email and on the web site.

The weather this year has been fantastic and the trees loved it. We have thousands of our most beautiful trees we have ever grown. You will definitely like the Canaan Firs, Douglas Firs, and many very nice Norway Spruce. There are still many Concolors, White Pines, Blue Spruce, and Blue Ice.

PRE-TAG only again for 2022

To Moose Apple Family and Friends:

The PRE-TAG only policy last year worked even better than we expected. The policy eliminated the massive traffic jams and congestion on and off the farm. It worked so well we are going to be able to increase the number of appointments per day. An additional benefit of the policy was to slow sales a little. This allowed many trees to catch up and get a little taller. We have many beautiful trees for you to checkout this season. The Canaan Firs, Douglas Firs. Norway Spruce, and Blue Ice are beautiful. There are still many nice Blue Spruce and Concolors.
For those of you that wanted to plant Blue Ice in your yards, our supplier has failed the last 2 years. We have found a new supplier that has them sitting in their field right now. We have contracted for them to be delivered in early April of 2023. So put your name on the Blue Ice list when you tag your tree!

What does this mean?

Moose Apple will be open weekends from Oct 1st through Sunday, Nov 13 from 10 am-4 pm for anyone that wishes to cut a tree from the farm in 2022 to come and pre-tag their tree. After Nov13 the fields will be closed except for people cutting their pre-tagged trees. For the 2022 season, we are continuing a non-refundable $20 deposit for each pre-tagged tree. We are going to limit how many pre-tagged trees can be cut each day. This will address the traffic congestion and long lines that have occurred on Thanksgiving weekend. Part of the pre-tagging process will be selecting the day you plan to return and cut your tree. The limit will be 350 per day. Once the appointments for a day are full, you will have to select any of the other days. We will have a nice selection of precut Fraser Firs from North Carolina for anyone that comes to the farm after Nov 13 and did not pre-tag a tree. We will be posting additional information, including pricing, as we get closer to the 2022 season. With all of the increased costs that have been placed upon us, expect price increases. Additional information will be posted on the Moose Apple Facebook page. More information will be emailed as the season progresses.
