About the Owners
Moose Apple Tree Farm is owned and operated by best friends Lee Ann Schwope and Tyler and Harriet Wegmeyer. Lee Ann and Harriet, best friends since they were in elementary school, always dreamed of owning a farm together, after have grown up on farms and been active 4-H members.
When you visit Moose Apple, chances are you will run into Lee Ann, Harriet and Tyler around the farm doing what they love!
Farm Fresh, Year Round!
Tyler and Harriet Wegmeyer own and operate Wegmeyer Farms in Hamilton, Va. Wegmeyer Farms specializes in growing strawberries and pumpkins, and has been a destination for families since 2002. The Wegmeyers are also partners in the agri-tourism farm Wayside Farm Fun in Berryville. Wayside Farm Fun provides visitors hours of fun on the farm in the fall with a giant corn maze, hayrides, pumpkins and many other activities.
Tyler Wegmeyer is a former Virginia Farmer of the Year, and serves in leadership positions on the Virginia Christmas Tree Association Board and the Virginia Strawberry Growers Association Board.
Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm, A Berryville Legacy
The farm was purchased from Paris and Kathy Rasnic in the summer of 2024, and the Rasnic’s looked to retire after more than 20 years in the business.
